About Me

Sadly, Remington was diagnosed with cancer and I lost my best friend on May 17, 2010, the worst day of my life. I don't know how I'll ever get past the loss, and each day without him has been very tough. He was the most wonderfully smart, loyal and loving teddy bear and simply the light of my life. Remington, as most Labs, was wild about retrieving tennis balls, and he could have been a professional ball catcher for any team who would have him. Remington left behind his friends Haley, a mischievous Newfoundland puppy, and Kosmo, a Himalayan kitten. Remington was a very early member of Central Bark - we were there playing ball before any fence was up on a cold winter day, again playing ball. I simply cannot bear to take his photo and profile down for now. Maybe some day I will be able to.  In any case, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to find places where dogs can run off leash and just be dogs, playing ball all day. Remington was thankful for Central Bark and thank you to everyone who worked to open it.

Hi Haley, mom is taking me to the park around 1:00 on Sat and Sun so I will stay warm. Do you think you can come at that time? Let me know =)

Sunday mornings or after 3 pm seems to be when the big dogs gather. I hope to see you then. woof!

Thanks so much for your advice yesterday...I filed an incident report and Adam said they would be taking some action. Even though Hunter was understandably shaken, I know he enjoyed running with Haley and looks forward to doing it again soon! We'll keep an eye out for you. My wife and I are so sorry for your loss of Remington. It kind of hits home for us being the owner of a yellow lab ourselves...Peace be with you.

I am SO sorry for your loss! I rarely read profiles, but when I saw that the adorable Haley would be coming to the park today, I clicked on her name and read this heartbreaking tribute to Remington. Words nor time will ever completely heal your pain at losing him, but the love that consumes you when you think of Remington will be there forever. Bless you for giving him such happiness, love, and tennis balls to chase.

My heart hurts for you. His photo serves to carry on his memory for all of us.
